People who are further removed from the labour market can take part in activation programmes that help them develop their talents and create new opportunities. These programmes may include work in the sewing workshop, as a shop assistant, or in other roles.
Clients learn how to care for themselves and their appearance again. This not only boosts their self-confidence, but also increases their opportunities for activation and employment — for example through stronger self-presentation during job interviews.
Through individual guidance and group workshops, clients work on self-care, self-confidence, and social participation.
Sustainable

In the sewing atelier, the staff of Binnenste Buiten repair and redesign clothing, while also producing warm winter sweaters, uniforms, and much more.
In addition, leftover materials are given a new life through upcycling. Old city flags or advertising banners from the City of Antwerp, for example, are transformed into shopping bags.
In this welcoming clothing store, clients of Binnenste Buiten — Antwerp residents in financially and socially vulnerable situations — are treated with dignity and respect. Here, they can choose their own products and do their own shopping. They have access to affordable, high-quality clothing, handmade textile products such as school uniforms, and personal care products.

At Binnenste Buiten, clients can find everything under one roof: a social shop offering clothing and personal care products, a sewing atelier, guidance and coaching focused on self-care, inspiring workshops, and work experience pathways that create future opportunities.
