"I'm not so happy with the way I look. I gained weight because of tough times and medication. I want to work on this again, together with my social worker. And learn to accept that my body is different now.

I have a lot of love to give. I am gentle and caring. According to my supervisor, I also have a good sense of humour, which was nice to hear. Taking care of myself is more challenging at the moment. I wear clean clothes, but often have little energy. That's why I seek help.

I enjoyed the photo shoot. I quickly felt at ease and safe. I like to be in a photo, preferably with my face. My mémé used to say I could become a fashion model. I was different then, but it still seems like good fun to me."

Learning to accept

"I came to Binnenste Buiten through the city of Antwerp's youth organisation. I received guidance as well as dental care there. My social worker helped me with everything: dental appointments, dental care costs and aftercare.

I used to love dancing a lot, at the dance school. Not anymore, because it's often about performing. I now mostly enjoy spending time with my little ones. Binnenste Buiten feels like a welcoming place. I am always welcome, even without a reason. That gives peace of mind.

I will never forget my first treatment. I was recovering from depression and exhausted. Here, I felt human again. After the treatment, I felt beautiful: my skin glowed, which made me feel stronger. I also received support after my breast surgery. Together with my social worker, I went to choose bras. Exciting and intimate, but lovely for that very reason."
