"In my spare time, I draw portraits. What I like most about myself is my gentleness: I genuinely care deeply about others. You can also see that in my face, especially in my smile. In addition, I always persevere. I always keep trying, even when it gets harder.

How do I take care of myself? By taking enough time to rest and by getting out and about from time to time. I also enjoy getting my hair done, and putting braids in it. And, of course, I love being with my little boy.

I would normally never consider doing a photo shoot. But I really enjoyed this photo session, my first ever. It also helped me improve my self-esteem."

Persevering in gentleness

"I am currently working at Binnenste Buiten as part of a work experience programme. As a receptionist, I welcome people, listen, help and take care of the administration.

Working at Binnenste Buiten made me realise that I love helping people. I like to make a difference to people who are struggling. Not just here in Antwerp. I also took the initiative to send hygiene products to help families in my own country, Angola. Working at Binnenste Buiten made me see the importance of such products.

What will always stay with me are my amazing colleagues! Everyone is treated equally here. We also respect each other's private lives. You don't often come across such a friendly atmosphere and team mentality!"
