In the city centre, several large real estate projects are being planned and are under construction. These projects, once complete, will add significant value to the commercial heart of the city. In the recent past, developers have been busy transforming the Antwerp Tower and the Century Center into modern mixed-use real estate projects, combining retail, restaurants, offices and residential units.
The city is currently looking forward to the completion of a number of projects under construction, such as Meir Corner and LIFE’s project in Kammenstraat. There are also a many projects on the drawing board that will be launched in the coming years. Most projects are opting for a mixed offer of retail, hospitality, offices, residential or other functions.
The city itself will also invest in its city centre with major redevelopment projects. The upgrading of the area around Groenplaats and Wapper and also the redevelopment of Meir, Leysstraat and Jezusstraat in 2028 are of great importance.
